Course Description: Units of study in this course include the discovery and settlement of the continent by Native Americans, European exploration and colonization, America’s colonial period, causes and major events of the Revolutionary War, early years and reforms of the U.S., westward expansion, and causes and effects of the U.S. Civil War. This course is appropriate for students in grades 7-8. Prior to beginning this course, it is recommended that students complete U.S. Geography and other introductory social studies courses. Students should also be able to identify many states and physical features of the U.S., explain basic economic principles such as supply and demand, and understand the concept of multiple perspectives. Upon completion of this course, students will: Be able to describe cause-and-effect relationships and multiple perspectives. Explain the use of primary and secondary sources when studying history. Analyze data from diverse materials, synthesize information from multiple sources, and draw an evidence-based conclusion. Students who complete this course should be able to transition to other social studies courses, such as U.S. History 2 or U.S. Government. A typical lesson should take 4 days to complete. CDs/DVDs/Discs:

  • Used - Good: Case may be damaged or come repackaged. Disc may have up to 1.5cm marking but is in great working condition. 
  • Used - Acceptable: A product with extensive external signs of wear, but is in great working condition. The case may be damaged. The cover art, liner, notes, or other inclusion may be marked, or one or all of these items may be missing.
