About this item

We're entering the era of The Authority. While you may already be sick of the phrase thought leader, the truth is there aren't that many of them in our industry. Thought leaders don't write content that any other real estate investor could claim. Thought leaders don't write about anything and everything. Thought leaders also don't compete on price. And their time is now. Experts are afforded the highest level of confidence and trust because they have a depth of knowledge that can't be denied or easily replicated. Why wouldn't we capitalize on that, as opposed to looking like every other real estate investor out there? The real estate industry is on the cusp of a huge shift, and if you take full advantage now, you're going to be tough to catch. Here’s the reality — when you plant your flag of authority correctly — you don’t need a million mailings to go out to get a return (don’t tell the Wholesalers that secret - they think they have to spend tens of thousands monthly for a deal that pays them only once). You don’t need a million listeners to get your podcast sponsored. You don’t need to speak at 50 conferences to have someone walk up and ask you some questions that lead to a deal. And you don’t need to be on the best-seller list to use your book as an amazing business development tool with the right seller. Most investors get this completely backward. They create broad, generic content as opposed to something that captures the interest of their ideal avatar. Their content is fluffy and doesn’t invite anyone to ask questions or lean in to learn more. But if you hone in on your specific avatar and ignore the rest of the world (remember, one of the traits of an authority is that most people could care less about their content), your audience will lean in. They will ask questions, and they will eventually put you on a short list to consider when they are ready to sell their home or ask for your help when buying. And when you do it exceptionally well, you as THE AUTHORITY will be the only investor they consider.
