CUMBERLAND: Island In Time is an environmental documentary that tells the history of this unique and wild place, located just off the East Coast of the United States yet, a million miles away -- from it's earliest beginnings to its establishment as a National Seashore. The island has been a haven for pirates, prisoners, and Presidents. The film features rare never-before-seen footage from Carnegie family home movies and many unpublished archival photographs. It also includes footage shot on the island over a four-year period that shows Cumberland in all its wild and untamed splendor, throughout all four seasons.
About the Director
William VanDerKloot is an independent director and producer whose work includes commercials, short films, television documentaries and theatrical features. He has won over one hundred international film and television awards including six southeastern Emmy Awards, eleven CINE Golden Eagles, three International Monitor Awards, as well as the George Foster Peabody Award, considered the "Pulitzer Prize of Broadcasting." He is the founder and creator and of the documentary children's programs, The BIG Adventure Series® from Little Mammoth Media. VanDerKloot's projects have been distributed on such venues as PBS, Discovery, Turner Broadcasting, CNN, HBO, Showtime, domestic and international homevideo, as well as VOD and theatrical release.
