Amazon.com Nashville's love for Christmas albums ensures that this series has plenty of previously released material to draw on. While hewing to the mainstream, volume 4 offers a solid variety of styles and moods. Kathy Mattea's "There's a New Kid in Town" was one of the first recordings of this modern standard and continues to please (as does much of Good News, the 1993 disc it's drawn from). Vince Gill strikes the most poignant note with "It Won't Be the Same This Year," written after his brother's death. Other highlights include Dwight Yoakam's "Come On Christmas" and Sammy Kershaw's "Up on the Housetop," both good clean fun from the two rowdiest artists here.
