Early on this fearless senator warned the U.S. about the duplicity of Russia, the threat of international communism, naive U.S. new imperialism abroad, and the dangers of reckless federal spending. Back home again in Indiana, he scrapped with, and guided, Republican politicians as leader for some thirty years.
