About this item

Riders of the Purple Sage by Zane Grey is a classic western tale of justice, revenge, and love. It follows the story of a young woman, Jane Withersteen, who is being persecuted and threatened by an influential religious leader, Elder Tull. As Jane's situation becomes increasingly dire, she turns to a mysterious rider, Lassiter, for help. Lassiter is a gun-toting, silver-spurred avenger with a mission of his own. As the two set out on a journey of revenge and redemption, they form an unlikely bond and find themselves entangled in the dangerous politics of a western town. This beloved novel has been captivating readers since 1912, and its thrilling plot and vivid characters make it a timeless classic. Riders of the Purple Sage is a must-read for any fan of western literature. Zane Grey (1872-1939) was an American author who wrote more than 90 novels, many of which were turned into motion pictures. He is best known for his Westerns, which were set in the American West, and were renowned for their realism, romanticism, and action. His works were also highly influential, inspiring the likes of John Ford, John Wayne, and other Western filmmakers. Grey was born in Zanesville, Ohio, in 1872. He attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a degree in dentistry in 1896. Although he practiced dentistry for a time, his true passion lay in writing, and he began publishing stories in 1901. He wrote a number of successful stories and novels, with his most famous being Riders of the Purple Sage (1912). Grey's works were incredibly popular and were adapted into numerous films, including The Vanishing American (1925), The Thundering Herd (1933), and The Border Legion (1936). He also wrote several books on fishing, and he was an avid angler. Grey died in 1939, but his legacy lives on in the many movies, television shows, and books that bear his name. His works continue to be read and enjoyed by readers around the world.
