Pickard is the pen name the author chose. "An-mal Crackers" is her first novel which she completed at age seventy-five taking two and one half years to write. Before retirement, she was a legal secretary as well as having worked in the contract defense industry. Her most fulfilling personal rewards come from not only writing a novel but being a volunteer victim advocate in her local police department as well as a counselor in a program called Displaced Homemakers, where she counseled divorced women. She is the mother of two and grandmother of one college student.
