Their 1999 Nonesuch debut compiled the best of their three European releases and was followed by a multi-artist \"gypsy caravan\" tour of the U.S. A successful U.S. tour took place earlier this year, preparing audiences across the country for the release of \"Band of Gypsies.\" The invigorating music of Taraf is a unique mix of local styles and flavors that represent the richness of the Romanian folk music tradition.
