About this item

Commentary from One World, THE BEST OF SOUTH AFRICAN ENTERTAINMENT: Beautiful Creatures - Ed Jordan & Alan Glass - Kids - Renowned balladeer and TV personality, Ed Jordan and ‘Not the Midnight Mass’ singer/co founder and well known voice artist Alan Glass, have teamed up to produce a fantastic array of original South African children’s songs. The Album, which is currently due for release, is called BEAUTIFUL CREATURES. The songs, all penned by Jordan and Glass, are sure to be a hit with kids aged 2-12. They all have an educational feel and also focus on environmental issues. The first few tracks are about various African animals. They include Imvubu the Happiest Hippo, a song about a Hippo with a great sense of rhythm; Lucas the Lazy Lion, who teaches children how to purr, growl and roar like him; a politically correct Zebra called Zee Bee Dee Be Dee; Lorenzo the Luckiest Lizard, who escapes danger by losing his tail; Mafuta, a large baby Elephant with issues; and Wallace the Wondrous Warthog, who declares himself to be the King of the pigs. In addition to the animal songs, there are several others, including; Down comes the rain, which to explains the benefits of rain for all creatures, Night Song, about nocturnal insects and the sounds they make, the theme song Beautiful Creatures, sung by TK and a gentle African Lullaby. Top South African guitarist Moritz Lotz, lent his talent, and guest vocalists TK, Nkanyso Bhemgu, Shelly Meskin, Gina Shmukler, and Tina Sibiya and a host of kids all add to the magic. “We wanted to create an album that was both child and parent friendly and would like to believe that we have achieved this. We’ve had a great response from children and moms’ and dads, who we’ve tested the album on,” says Alan while Ed adds, “This has been the best fun, I hope that the kids who listen to this enjoy it as much as we have.”
