This is a guidebook about some of themes beautiful alpine lakes in Central Colorado. These lakes are pristine and afford some of the most spectacular fish found in Colorado. I have spent ten years hiking, fishing, and camping in these alpine lakes and tundras. As a native of Colorado I have always admired the pristine beauty they offer. These lakes are part of the largest concentration of lakes in the Rockies which are home for some of the most beautiful species of fish in Colorado. The lakes all have trails, for the most part, leading to their location on public land, and are open to everyone willing to expend the effort to hike into them. Acclimatization, hydration, and proper attire are essential for a successful outing into these picturesque places. This guidebook will provide the reader with distance and elevation profiles along with trailhead information. Also, topo maps and routes along with GPS coordinates are given. Backpack inventory is covered as well as caution involving the high country elements such as lightning, hypothermia, and giardiasis. Color photos as well as the best fishing areas, fly patterns, and lures will enhance the most productive angling experience.
