During her twenty-four-year career, Diane Probst, CCE, has learned a great deal about such topics as organization leadership and cash management through training programs and her experience as a chamber of commerce executive. But it is her experience as a teenager, who was not only determined to succeed at baton twirling but also enthusiastic about helping others to succeed, that is behind her fulfilling career and outstanding performance in leading the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce to its five-star status. In Chamberology, an all-in-one guide to maximizing your own and your chamber’s potential, Probst taps into this deep well of enthusiasm to share her insights into the unique functioning and challenges of a chamber of commerce, discussing fifteen key elements for success. First and foremost, you must understand for whom you are working. Chapters on innovative program ideas and bringing those programs to life also provide guidance specific to setting up a chamber of commerce. Further insights include career advice, such as balancing work and home life and maintaining enthusiasm, along with professional advice on improving your financial, communication, and time-management skills. Inspiring as well as educational, Chamberology is an invaluable resource for chamber of commerce professionals at every level of the organization. After you finish the book, read about how to obtain a fun “Chamberologist” T–shirt and certificate.
