This book has over 60 Christmas and winter theme embroidery patterns. The patterns include: a winterhouse cottage, robins, a snowy owl, and lots of winter florals — snowdrops, snowbells, camellia, peony, viola, pansies, iris, winter cherry, whitework heather, pink daphne, rosehips, winter beauty clematis, holly tree, silver birch, a jasmine bouquet and winter bells hellebore, as well as festive cakes and sweets borders. The patterns include garlands, border designs, small motifs and lettering for the words Winter, Christmas and Love. There are snowmen, snowglobes, a gingerbread house, gingerbread castle, twinkle lights, Christmas trees, a sleigh, Christmas roses, poinsettia, mistletoe, ivy, a festive fireside, parcels, snowberries and baubles. De-ann Black is the designer. She designed and stitched the patterns from her original artwork. The flowers are an artistic representation of real flowers. The book contains full-size templates on single-sided pages so you can trace the patterns on to fabric ready for embroidering. The pattern instructions are at the back of the book. The patterns are ideal for hand stitching and hoop embroidery. Many of the patterns fit into standard size 10 inch, 6 inch and 5 inch hoops. Most of the patterns use stranded cotton embroidery thread (floss), but goldwork and crewelwork patterns (wool embroidery) are included. The crewel wool patterns can also be stitched with cotton embroidery thread if preferred. The stitches and thread colours are suggestions.
