About this item

At 930 p.m. on 25 June 1996, Iranian-trained terrorists detonated a sewage truck in a parking lot just outside of Khobar Towers, a fenced-in and guarded residential complex in Saudi Arabia. Khobar Towers housed American, French, and British military enforcing the UN-mandated Southern No-Fly zone over Iraq. Despite the guards' immediate response as the terrorists fled, the explosion killed nineteen US servicemen and wounded nearly 500 more. America was shocked. The resulting search for accountability introduced another battlefield that has become much too familiar in our country. This book tells the story as lived the US commander on the ground when the attack occurred and his wife who lived it vicariously. Together, they tell what happened during the years after. Collecting the Scars is a cautionary Tale.
