Featuring interviews with extended family, friends and the employees who helped make Nathan's the prototype for fast-food made with quality, love and care, it is also very much a story of labor and a chronicle of the people who spent their lives in the employ of Nathan's. Rich in nostalgia, FAMOUS NATHAN pushes the boundaries of conventional documentary filmmaking, as kaleidoscopic and layered as Coney Island itself, capturing the honky-tonk, in-your-face spirit that was Nathan's Famous in it's hey-day and today.

About the Director

Lloyd Handwerker (Writer/Cinematographer/Producer/Director), born in Brooklyn and raised in Long Island, studied photography at The Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, N.Y. and received an M.F.A from N.Y.U. His life-long passion has been creating a documentary film about the hot dog stand started by his grandfather Nathan Handwerker in 1916, a project he began almost thirty years ago. He lives and works in Brooklyn.
ASIN: B010OKHZTE
VSKU: DBV.B010OKHZTE.G
Condition: Good
Author/Artist:Nathan Handwerker|Lloyd Handwerker
Binding: Dvd
Note: Any images shown are stock photographs and product may differ from what is shown.
Condition Notes: Individually inspected: Guaranteed to play perfectly or your money back.
