Established in 1801, Marine Barracks, 8th & I, Washington, DC is the "heart and soul" of the Marine Corps. It's hope to the United States Marine Band, the Marine Drum & Bugle Corps, the Marine Corps Color Guard, and the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon. Two of the most famous military ceremonies, The Sunset Parade and The Evening Parade, are hosted by the Marines assigned here. This program takes you behind the scenes, with the Marines of 8th and I - from boot camp to the hallowed parade grounds. It's an up-close look at the selection process, the training, and the performances of these famed ceremonial units.
