But sometimes things get so rough that you just can't grin about it. And that's when I'm glad I'm a song writer, because I can at least write a song about it and try to get it out of my system a little bit and start trying to get back on the good foot. Making this music did my heart a lot of good. I hope it touches yours."

About the Artist

Elvin Bishop's 40+ year music career winds a path through seminal pioneering highlights in American music history. Bishop was part of a group of young, white musicians who were in Chicago at the dawn of the 1960s and immersed into the city's thriving blues music scene. Amidst the era's tense racial barriers, Bishop learned his craft frequenting and performing at South Side clubs, meeting and playing with Waters, Wolf, Rush, Hound Dog, Guy, Smokey Smothers. As a founding member of The Butterfield Blues Band, he helped introduce rock audiences to blues - an accomplishment the British Invasion bands later took credit for. Along with Michael Bloomfield, Elvin pioneered the dual guitar attack later used by Dickie Betts and Duane Allman (and a host of others)- fashioning what's become known as Southern Rock. In the late 1960s Elvin struck out on his own, heading to Northern California where he became part of the San Francisco scene, releasing his first solo records on Bill Graham's Fillmore label and becoming a mainstay at the immortal performance hall of the same name - jamming with the likes of Hendrix, Garcia, Santana, BB King. His friendship with the Allman Brothers brought him into the Capricorn Records family in the 1970s, where Bishop hit the pop music charts amongst major arena and festival tours. Bishop continued touring and recording and in 2005 appeared on the Grammy Awards televison broadcast playing his 1976 top-ten pop music hit "Fooled Around And Fell In Love."
ASIN: B000AA4IDU
VSKU: DBV.B000AA4IDU.G
Condition: Good
Author/Artist:Bishop, Elvin
Binding: Audio cd
Note: Any images shown are stock photographs and product may differ from what is shown.
Condition Notes: Individually inspected: Guaranteed to play perfectly or your money back.
