Meditative (often obscurely so), mystical (at least wannabe), and melodic almost to the point of becoming aural wallpaper (he seems to care little about his bass work), Beamer's music makes clear why the nation's leading slack-key label is a subsidiary of the nation's leading New Age label. But as such, Beamer is the de facto leader of one of slack key's strongest schools, and he's clearly the most prolific, and probably the best, of the lot. Still, those who aren't coming to him via New Age are likely to consider this background music.
