About the Artist Brian has been writing music ever since he can remember. Family members tell him that when he was young he would whistle all the time. When they would ask what he was whistling, Brian would say, "I don't know, I just made it up." Piano lessons started at age ten, when Brian's parents bought a baby grand piano.He enjoyed the lessons at first, but after about a year they became boring. Besides, the lessons took time away from his new passion, baseball. He would practice baseball for hours and hours, and the piano for minutes. So, needless to say his piano playing suffered, while he made several all-star teams in baseball. Although baseball took up most of his time he could still find time to whistle. In any given inning you could hear Brian composing a new tune. When Brian was around 17 he started to tinker around on the piano again. This time he discoverd it was fun because now he was playing the piano the same way he whistled, wandering around the notes until something started sounding good. Brian's first album, "A Light in the Trees," which sold several thousand copies but is no longer in print, is a compilation of Brian's earliest writings. The song "Tenderness", is one of his first full compositions, completed when he was 18. Brian still plays softball in a community league, but now his true passion is the piano.
