About the Series
The two-time Golden Globe® and Emmy Award® winning series, Mozart in the Jungle, is all about sex, drugs-and classical music - and shows that what happens behind the curtains at the symphony can be just as captivating as what happens on stage. The half-hour comedic drama series is written by Oscar®-nominated writer and director Roman Coppola, actor and musician Jason Schwartzman, and Tony®-nominated writer and director Alex Timbers and is based on the critically acclaimed memoir Mozart in the Jungle by Blair Tindall. Season three opens in the midst of a grand Italian adventure with Rodrigo (Gael Garcia Bernal, who won the Best Actor Golden Globe® for his performance) taking on a brand new artistic challenge. Hailey (Lola Kirke) travels across Europe with the Andrew Walsh Ensemble, finding it s not everything that she d hoped. The series also stars Malcolm McDowell, Saffron Burrows and Bernadette Peters and all ten season three episodes will be available on Amazon Prime on December 9, 2016.
About the Music
The soundtrack for Mozart in the Jungle, Season 3 features both standard classical repertoire from Mozart and Beethoven as well as music written especially for the series by contemporary composers Nico Muhly and Missy Mazzoli. The soundtrack also includes Joshua Bell, who made an appearance in the second season, plus performances by Yo-Yo Ma, Nikolaus Harnoncourt and other superstars from the classical music world.
