The project is an autobiographical journey that explores her mother's health challenges as well as the impact on Brooke as an artist and a daughter. Seeds of this powerfully expressive project were sown two years earlier when Jonatha moved her mother to New York. 'It was quite an adventure. My mother had always been dramatic, but in her dementia, she elevated her own particular brand of theater to a whole new level. Almost daily she would play, 'Boolie! Are you getting this down? This is good! We should make a play out of it!' Jonatha recalls. 'So I did. I wrote a play - it's a musical, and I've written an album of new material to accompany it.'

Review

'Conceived as a one-woman musical theater presentation...My Mother Has Four Noses, the record, (Bad Dog Records) is also quite the poignant, arresting, entertaining, uplifting and profound CD.' --Aquarian Weekly

'Who knew the distinguished New York singer-songwriter was such a good actress, comedian and writer? Her one-woman play with music about her mother s dementia was poignant, powerful and funny.' --Minneapolis Star Tribune

'Devastating and gorgeous. A poignantly funny, beautifully created narrative...' --New York Times Critics' Pick
ASIN: B00HGTNKC8
VSKU: DBV.B00HGTNKC8.G
Condition: Good
Author/Artist:Jonatha Brooke
Binding: Audio cd
Note: Any images shown are stock photographs and product may differ from what is shown.
Condition Notes: Individually inspected: Guaranteed to play perfectly or your money back.
