The language has also been refined to reflect the full range of experiences and goals that exist in our self-empowered approach to change.

2 – Coping with urges;
3 – Managing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors; and
4 – Living a balanced life.
This handbook can be used independently or as a basis for participating in SMART Recovery mutual support group meetings. It is supportive of medication-assisted treatment, harm reduction, and abstinence goals.
