Two identical-looking color reproductions of a masterpiece appear side by side, but a careful search reveals a variety of subtle differences. Discover American and European art movements and periods, including folk art and the impressionist era, and wander through scenes from the 15th to the 20th century to find objects that were either added, changed, or removed. In addition to providing hours of challenging fun and sharpening observational skills, this book encourages art appreciation and offers fun facts about paintings and artists. Featured artists include Leonardo da Vinci and Vincent van Gogh, as well as striking creations by Cézanne, Rousseau, Vermeer, and other great painters.
Pairs of paintings, placed side by side, have anywhere from 6 to 14 changes made to the original paintings. The original work is always on the left, while the page with the differences is on the right. As kids search for the differences, they'll also learn fun facts about the artists and their paintings. Masterpieces include Emanuel Leutze's Washington Crossing the Delaware and Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa, plus paintings by van Gogh, Cézanne, Degas, Gauguin, Monet, Rembrandt, Remington, Renoir, Rousseau, Vermeer, and many others.
