Are you ready to take The Great American Political Trivia Challenge? This is my humble attempt to end the great political divide. The best part is that this book is non-ideological and non-partisan. Accordingly, it might help to break the acrimonious political divide! If the book doesn’t solve that lofty goal, it should at least be challenging, fun, and possibly exasperating. Most importantly, it will put a few coins in my coffers. Politics has become a contact blood-sport. You’ll find no bloodshed here. This book exhibits the peculiar, bizarre, captivating, and unusual side of American politics. I have been a political junkie for most of my life. This is my fifth political book. Three of the first four books dealt with political facts, quotations, and political stories or the ridiculous side of American politics. My fourth book was about the Electoral College, not exactly a page-turner. If you are engrossed with the esoteric and intricate workings of the Electoral College system, this book could be for you. During my previous book tours, many television and radio hosts would attempt to stump me with obscure political trivia questions. That gave me the impetus to write this book. This book is political trivia on steroids. Politicians are just like the rest of us, except they live under a microscope. It’s the magnification that often gets them in trouble. If we make a mistake, people groan, laugh, and then forget about it. If a politician makes a mistake, it goes down in the annals of history, and eventually is unearthed by political junkies such as myself, to live on in infamy in political trivia books. You can read the book from cover-to-cover, or flip through the pages for fun, or you can take the challenge seriously and keep score. It’s up to you. Whenever possible, I have provided context and as much of a back story as possible so readers will learn as well as test their political prowess. I have included page numbers where the answers can be found if you have a proclivity to cheat, or let’s say peruse the answers in advance. Don’t worry, no one is watching you. This is NOT an academic task. So take a journey on the wild, bizarre, and humorous side of American politics. Buckle-up and get ready for a bumpy, humorous ride.
