About this item
(Fake Book). The Hymn Fake Book - C Edition comes with a vast collection of multi-denominational hymns and a whole lot of history. Dating back to the 1940s, jazz musicians used "fake books" for their nightly gigs. These books contained basic melodies or chords the cliff notes of full compositions enough for musicians to "fake" their way through a song. The Hymn Fake Book continues that tradition and contains only those essential elements: melody, lyrics, and chords for each song. This book is written for C instruments and includes arrangements intended for players, soloists, or group singing. It is bound with a plastic comb so it can lay flat on your music stand. Featuring a variety of hymns, spanning several centuries, it is quite possibly the largest collection of hymns ever assembled. Whether you're a church musician or hobbyist, this fake book is just what you need! Hymns include: Abide with Me * All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name * Amazing Grace * Battle Hymn of the Republic * Be Thou My Vision * Christ the Lord Is Risen Today * Crown Him with Many Crowns * Deeper, Deeper * For the Beauty of the Earth * Give Him the Glory * Glorious Freedom * God Is My Strong Salvation * His Eye Is on the Sparrow * How Firm a Foundation * Never Said a Mumblin' Word (He Never Said a Mumblin' Word) * O Come, O Come, Emmanuel * The Old Rugged Cross * Shall We Gather at the River? * The Star-Spangled Banner * Tell It to Jesus * There Is a Balm in Gilead * Wayfaring Stranger * Were You There? * What Child Is This? * and more!
