About this item
In TO MY SON, WITH LOVE Susan writes about the deepest feelings of all parents as she shares her wisdom and her common sense, her knowledge and her intuitiveness, her values and her beliefs. She boldly encourages her sons not to hide their feelings and emotions. She teaches them that they must choose their own paths and make their dreams come true. She quietly stands alongside her sons with unconditional love, acceptance, and appreciation, and proudly watches them grow.
Stephen Schutz successfully translates the beauty of his love for his wife and his sons into a frame of artistic genius surrounding Susan's words. His sensitive, mystical paintings add a visual realm of color and warmth to Susan's poetry, and, once again, this talented couple gives us yet another journey into the depths of our beings, opening our hearts to feel the beauty, the joy, and the love of life that is in all of us.
TO MY SON, WITH LOVE supports parenthood and extols sonship. Susan eloquently expresses the mother-son relationship, and she creates an idealistic but very realizable blueprint for joyous associations and family living.
When Susan and Stephen's previous book, TO MY DAUGHTER, WITH LOVE, ON THE IMPORTANT THINGS IN LIFE, was published, mothers and fathers of daughters from across the land sent happy letters of thanks, and this book quickly became a classic. Many of these people also said in their letters, "Please write a book like this for our sons." Susan did, and every son who receives this book is really receiving a celebration of love.
Susan expresses the words of every mother and father as she writes to her sons, "You can always depend on me for complete and absolute understanding, support and love forever."
