About this item

Product Description Grammy Award winning producer Will Ackerman says of Unveiled, 'the music is filled with both soaring inspiration and a remarkable sense of peace.' Guest artists include Will Ackerman (guitar), Philip Aaberg (keyboards), Eugene Friesen (cello), Tracy Silverman (violin), Jeff Oster (flugelhorn), Jill Haley (English horn), and Noah Wilding (vocals). Stanton Lanier's passion is to help listeners slow down and experience some peace and rest in a hurried world. His improbable story (chemistry degree to pianist/composer with over 27,000 CDs distributed) began with piano lessons at age six. In 2000 he began creating scripture inspired piano melodies to 'bring peace to the soul' of every listener who encounters them. This has resulted in five original albums -- Walk in the Light (2001), Still Waters (2002), Draw Near (2004), The Voice (2005) and Unveiled (2007). There is also a piano book for each of the first four recordings. The Voice and Unveiled were produced by Will Ackerman. People describe Stanton's melodies as 'calming, soothing and uplifting,' and often send stories about the music bringing them a unique and personal sense of peace. Listeners consistently rank the song Peace in the Top 10 on Comcast Cable's Soundscapes television channel. His piano music has also been heard on Solo Piano Radio, The Weather Channel, the Delilah radio show, iTunes and many traditional and internet radio stations. Stanton's music has been purchased and enjoyed by listeners across the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia. His concerts are enjoyed by all ages, combining all original music with a captivating visual presentation. He loves to encourage adults and students to pursue their creative gifts in order to make a positive difference in the world. Born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Stanton grew up loving basketball and piano. He composed his first song at age 14, and wrote over a dozen songs during his high school years in Milton, Florida. He played a variety of musical styles during his twelve years of classical training, and especially enjoyed pieces by Bach and Beethoven. He continued to play piano and write music during college and graduate school, while completing a chemistry degree at Georgia Tech, and an MBA at the University of Georgia. He spent fifteen years in the business world, and was a financial advisor with Ronald Blue & Co. for nine years. He became a full-time pianist and composer in 2004 after founding Music to Light the World, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a vision to 'bring peace to the soul.' In addition to music, Stanton enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, shooting basketball, traveling, and reading. One of his favorite quotes is 'Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive' (from the book 'Wild at Heart' by John Eldredge). Stanton and his family reside in Marietta, Georgia. Review Stanton's music is filled with both soaring inspiration and a sense of remarkable peace. He doesn't have to tell us where the music comes from to have us feel it. This is my second record with Stanton. I've watched him grow remarkably as a composer and pianist. His compositions, while always lovely, were predictably and almost mathematically structured. His performances, while flawless and graceful could have been accused of being somewhat academic. All of that has been swept aside with UNVEILED. This is deeply emotional work; surprising and fluid; filled with passion. His compositions are now revelations of spiritual depth and his performances a cathartic outpouring of emotion. You do not need to know of the faith that is such a fundamental part of Stanton's life, but it would be impossible not to share in the power of it while listening to him. --Will Ackerman, Founder of Windham Hill Records
