About this item

Amazon.com The final season of Weeds represents a return to the suburbs and an attempt at normalcy. Unfortunately, Nancy's move to Connecticut to live with her sister, Jill (Jennifer Jason Leigh), resulted in a shot to the head. While recovering in the hospital, Nancy (Mary-Louise Parker) starts to deal again, but it's only a temporary detour while Shane (Alexander Gould), who has been training with the NYPD--and dating a fellow cadet--uncovers the identity of the shooter: a long-forgotten figure from Nancy's past. With that mystery solved, Nancy plunges back into the search for legit work, which leads her to become a pharmaceutical rep, among the year's more clever developments, since few people know more about drugs than Nancy Botwin, who believes "the future is in legalized pot." In the course of getting to know her neighbors, she also strikes sparks with a handsome rabbi (Hawthorne's David Julian Hirsh). As for her extended clan, Silas (Hunter Parrish) finds a legal way to pursue his passion, Andy (Justin Kirk) gets serious about fatherhood, and Doug (Kevin Nealon) forms his own religion (it's particularly nice to see Nancy and Silas getting along again). Other changes include new opening credits, which map out Nancy's previous moves, and the return of the original theme song, "Little Boxes," each time performed by different musicians, like Nealon and Steve Martin, while the finale skips ahead eight years to catch up with everybody, including Stevie (Mateus Ward) and characters from Agrestic and Ren Mar. Extra features offer deleted scenes and commentary from cast and crew, but the last words belong to Jill, who sums up the entire series when she tells Nancy, "You live this incredible, insane life of intrigue and danger where you break the law and get away with it and you never ever die!" --Kathleen C. Fennessy Product Description The last time we saw Nancy and the Botwins, it was through the scope of a hit mans rifle. Nancy had sprung from the joint and gone to New York City, where she made a fresh start doing what she does best selling pot and making enemies. Now, everyones wondering who put out the hitand who got smoked.
