About this item
A Most Unusual Story About A Most Unusual Man
Filled with more unique, interesting and eccentric characters than one can imagine, Dennis Drake’s life carried him from the foothills of Montana halfway around the globe to the islands of the Mindanao Sea. Driven by a passion to help those in need, his journey began with a boy's struggle to find his place in the world, and developed into one of a leader loved by multitudes.
Experience romance, heartbreak, extreme danger, adventure, political intrigue, entrepreneurship, and world exploration with Dennis Drake as he rises from the ashes of a devastating marriage to father the life changing International Deaf Education Association (IDEA) bringing hope and happiness to thousands.
Dennis was an impulsive guy who wasn’t afraid of hard work or failure. He would say he “didn’t know what he didn’t know and was blissfully ignorant” as he plunged headlong into improbable things. Some worked and many didn’t but he had no doubt divine guidance was involved.
Much more than the rescue of a deaf community played out on an island in the Mindanao Sea, his is a tale of a life well lived. Encouraging and warmly uplifting, this is a true story of devastating failure, a search for faith, an uncommon aptitude for pursuing a vision, and amazing triumph.
