About this item

This is an independent workbook written by Oak Tree Reading for the book “The ONE Thing” by Gary Keller Let’s do a quick self-assessment: Do you often find yourself getting distracted while reading? Do you find yourself rushing through books despite your best intentions? Do you sometimes read paragraphs over and over and still don’t know what they said? Do you struggle to remember what was in a book soon after you finish it? Do you wish there was a way you could get more value from the books you read? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions – you are not alone! In our busy lives we are constantly tempted to forfeit the quality of what we do, including the quality of our reading habits. We are lured away from our goals by distractions and other commitments. In the long run, this strategy hurts us more than it helps. It comes down to this: If you don’t remember what you learned while reading, what was the point of reading it to begin with? What is the solution to this? You guessed it! This workbook. Why use this workbook while you read? You will get more value from the books you read. You will be able to facilitate group discussions and team learning. You will easily implement the knowledge and wisdom shared by authors. You will see the positive impact books start to have on your life. You will enjoy reading more than ever before. You will always have your completed workbook as a quick refresher. Here’s what is included in your workbook: Pre-reading questions Reading comprehension questions Space to write your own summary for each section Vocabulary words (and space to add your own) Key terms to define Chapter reflection questions Final reflection questions A condensed list of all questions, vocabulary, and key terms for reference Reflection pages for writing extra notes and ideas This workbook is in no way designed to replace the author’s original content. It is designed to have you actively engage with what you are learning as you read. I first started making these workbooks for myself. While I was enjoying the books immensely, I was struggling to remember the information soon after I finished reading. Authors spend a lot of time gathering and sharing their insights because they believe what they are sharing is valuable and can help people. I felt like I wasn’t doing them justice, and I knew I wasn’t alone. I decided to start sharing these workbooks with others, not to take away from what the author has done, but hopefully, to allow more people to enjoy and learn from their books. I encourage you to try out this workbook as you read. I truly believe it will change the way you read for the better! Please note: The eBook and paperback formats of this workbook are somewhat different. In the eBook format, space for writing is not needed and therefore has been omitted. Some blanks (i.e. “____”) have been left in to indicate where something should be written. The paperback version includes the full space for writing answers.
